La Mission Check

To all of our members-

        To say that today was a moving experience would be an understatement, as it made me realize and be thankful for, all that the Lord has blessed me with personally.  It was very rewarding for all of us to present on behalf of the SCCA membership, a donation in the amount of Fifteen Thousand dollars ($15,000.00); the proceeds from the LA Golf Tournament that was held September 19th, 2013. 

     Herb Smith, President/CEO of the LA Missions was overwhelmed that our organization would provide such a large gift this close to Thanksgiving.  As he told us, the following week they will be serving thousands of Thanksgiving meals to those that live on the street in Los Angeles.   As it was explained to us, the LA Mission closes down the streets around the mission, set-up hundreds of tables and chairs and proceeds to feed thousands a complete Thanksgiving meal.  Because of private donations such as what the members of the SCCA have provided, they are able to provide these services to some of the neediest in our local community. 

     From the LA Golf Tournament Committee and the SCCA Board of Directors, we once again want to thank all that participated/played/sponsored at our inaugural LA event.
